A: Please arrive without any make up on, if possible.

A: The immediate effects of a facial typically last between five and seven days. During this time, skin looks and feels plump, hydrated and radiant. To extend your results, keep these aftercare steps in mind:

• Discuss your current routine with your therapist, follow their at home regime and recommendations for best results. 
• To allow the products to deeper penetrate the skin, do not wash your face until after 7 hours. If your facial was performed in the afternoon/evening then you can leave until the morning to cleanse your skin. 
• Avoid washing your face with hot water, always cool to warm temperatures are perfect. This helps prevent any unnecessary broken capillaries. 
• Proper hydration is key to maximizing the benefits of your facial. Be sure to drink lots of water afterward. Staying hydrated will prevent dehydration, flush out toxins and leave you with a healthy, glowing complexion. When you are sufficiently hydrated, your skin cells function more effectively and are better able to eliminate toxins, absorb nutrients and help you retain your post-facial radiance. In addition to drinking plenty of water, increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and apply a daily moisturizer to maintain your glow.

A: Yes, we do however recommend that pregnant clients check with their healthcare provider for any product contraindications that may be unique to them. It is generally recommended that stimulating products should be avoided, as women may find that their skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. Always let your therapist know when you are pregnant to avoid any issues.

A: We use Éminence Organic Skincare products here at the Ivy. A few of their products contain beeswax. Please let your therapist know if you prefer your facial to be Vegan Friendly, it’s no trouble at all!

A: There is no real downtime for any Éminence Peels, we have many different peels here at Ivy – Yam & Pumpkin, Salicylic and Calm Skin Chamomile and each peel has its own set of homecare instructions.

If you have any of our peels, you do not need to exfoliate your skin at home for 5 to 7 days, do not use any heat of your skin for 24 hours post the peel, this also includes exercise that may cause sweating, also avoid steam and saunas.

A: You will need to declare the following information before you have a peel at Ivy, to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you:

• Are you currently using Retinol? 
• Have you had a chemical peel in the last two weeks? 
• Have you just recently shaved the treatment area in the last two hours? 
• Are you under the care of a dermatologist/plastic surgeon and using any at-home “peeling” treatments? 
• Do you have a sun/windburn? 
• Do you have a cold sore or do you get cold sores?
• When did I last exfoliate my skin?
