FAQs

Q: How Do I Prepare For My Appointment?

A. The below will help to ensure your appointment runs as smoothly as possible:

  • Complete your consultation form online in advance of your treatment
  • Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your appointment, just in case we’re all in treatments and you’re stuck outside!
  • Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing
  • If you have long hair, please bring a hairband with you
  • Take a deep breath, relax and let us do the rest
  • If you’re unsure of anything, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
Q: I’m Pregnant, Can I Book A Massage?

A. Firstly, congratulations! Yes, we can likely accommodate you! If you’re pre or post-natal, please book our Pregnancy or Post Natal massages only. If you’re in the first trimester (initial 12 weeks) we wouldn’t recommend a massage. However, once you reach the second trimester (from week 13) all going well with your consultation form, we highly recommend pregnancy massage.

Q: Should I Talk During My Treatment?

A. That is entirely your choice and your therapist will take your lead. If you feel comfortable to converse then go for it, however on the flip side if you prefer to experience the massage quietly to truly switch off, that is absolutely fine too. This is your time.

Q: I’m Not In Pain. Is It Working?

A. It’s worth noting that massage therapy doesn’t need to hurt to be effective – this is a myth and some of the most effective massages are gentle and don’t involve pain. In fact, too much pressure can be counterproductive.

Q: How Often Should I Get A Massage?

A. The million-dollar question. It’s best to discuss this in person with your therapist, so they can advise based on a number of factors you might consider. We’d usually recommend getting a massage every 4 – 6 weeks as part of a regular personal self-care routine. Weekly/fortnightly sessions are recommended for those experiencing an on-going issue/complaint.

Q: Can I Block Book My Appointments?

A: You absolutely can! We offer treatment courses of 3 or 6 sessions which are more cost effective. Please discuss with your therapist to find the best option for you.
